The objective of this project is to raise awareness and promote the learning of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian as a means of motivating European tourists to visit these countries.

Our project will encourage the general public to learn the key expressions of three less widely spoken European languages providing what amounts to survival level competence. By using the product, the potential European tourist will also be more familiar with the culture and heritage of these Baltic states. This project is a first step in getting tourists interested in language and culture in the hope that they will develop an intrinsic motivation to learn more about the language and culture of these three unique nations.

This language learning will take the form of a broadcast-quality DVD containing episodes in all three languages and playable on PCs or home DVD players. Central to the project is a sophisticated dissemination website including downloadable and on-demand streaming video content and vocabulary-related activities, designed to take advantage of future developments in mobile technology. Everyone who has a “screen”, whether television, computer monitor or mobile phone, is able to access the language content.
